Tatted Doily Round Robin

On the left is the doily belonging to Josie as it looked when I received it. On the right is how it looks now that I've added another round of tatting. I will send it on the the next tatter. Two additional rounds will be added before it is sent back home to Josie.

Fat Quarter Frenzy

These are the 4 fabrics I've chosen for the Fat Quarter Frenzy. They will be mailed to another quilter and I will get back something made from these fabrics. I, in turn, will receive 4 fat quarters from my partner and will make something from those fabrics and then the objects back. I've never done anything like this so I'm looking forward to it.

I'll post the fabrics I receive and what I do with them. I'll also post what happens with my fabrics.

9 patch blocks

These are samples of the 12" 9 patch blocks that I've made for a swap with other quilters. The blocks are due May 15 so I'm well ahead of schedule. I'll mail my blocks to the coordinator and then get all different blocks back. When I get them back (after May 15) I think I'll use these for a disappearing 9 patch quilt.

String quilt

Here is my string quilt I made using used dryer sheets as the foundation. This quilt is approx. 33 x 45. Each set of 4 rectangles made a 11 x 15" block. I put sashing between the blocks. This will be a baby gift for a co-worker.

Magic Ribbons

This is a quilt designed by Dorothy Young, a mystery offered on A Pocket Full of Mysteries Yahoo Group in January 2006 (New Year's). I got the top done and then put it aside when I couldn't decide whether or not to add another border. Finally last fall I had it quilted and I just finished the binding so now my quilt is done, complete with label. The background is a dark floral.

My Round Robin Doily

Jeanette has added to my center and the result is this lovely little doily. She wll now send it on to the next tatter who will add another round. Thanks, Jeanette! Very pretty!

I have received this lovely center from Shawna. It is now my challenge to add a new bit of tatting to it. I have until mid March to add something and get this in the mail to the next person.

Tatted Doily Round Robin

I am in a round robin with 4 other tatters. We'll be making 5 different doilies, one for each person. Each one makes a doily center and then sends it to the next person on the list. Each tatter in turn adds a new round to the doily. When the doily is complete, it is sent back to its owner.

Here is my center. This is made using #50 flora thread and the pattern is "Summer Posy" from Tatting 2000 Ring of Tatters.
