Another Table Runner

I had one last table runner UFO to finish, one last 3 block Christmas table runner like the one posted earlier (see Christmas in July posted on July 1). Today I did quilt as you go type quilting on the reverse side using some Easter prints and solid yellow. This is the first time I've tried a pieced backing on the reverse side of a table runner. It isn't centered quite as well as I'd like but it's still very usable. I'll spend more time with the placment of the center square should I do this again. I plan to keep this table runner and will use it on my coffee table when it's appropriate. So ... another UFO completed. And it's useful during 2 holiday seasons!

Three Cheers

"Three Cheers" is the name of this quilt. It was a mystery quilt with directions being posted last summer. Since it was started about a year ago, I guess this qualifies as a UFO as it wasn't completed in the same calendar year. This quilt measures 36 x 48". I found out that I'm very consistent with baby quilts, usually making them 36 x 45" so much so that I got out that size batting for this quilt only to find out (as I was sandwiching the quilt) that it was 3" too short. The solution - attach a strip of scrap batting. No problem!

Swap block quilt

This spring, I participated in a block swap with an online yahoo group and received a variety of 9 patch blocks. I put together 2 quilt tops. Yesterday I quilted the baby quilt from those blocks. The edges tend to be a little wavy because I used fleece on the back and turned it over to the top to bind. The baby won't care and the fleece make a nice cuddly quilt.

It's Elementary, My Dear

It's Elementary, My Dear

I collected the many fabrics and step by step directions during a shop-hop (visiting numerous quilt shops over a couple days) during 2005. Then health problems arose and took priority. This pattern by Debbie Caffrey was a unique challenge because one had to have 17 different fat quarters in addition to yardage.I chose a lot of different colors for my fat quarters. What fun it was to cut the pieces and then watch the pattern emerge as the parts were put together.

I recently completed this UFO (unfinished object) - late but finally done and I love it!

Completed Doily

This evening I put on the last stitches of my round on Jeanette's doily. I'll now get this in an envelope and ready to put it in the mail to Jeanette. She tatted the center and three others had added a round before I received the doily. Mine is the 5th (counting the center as #1) round on this doily. This was made with size 50 thread, a thread that I really enjoy using. It was fun to add this last round. This is the last doily for me to work on in this round robin. I'll be anxious to see what mine looks like when I get it back.

Another table runner

Just today I quilted this little table runner. It is the bonus from the No Mail Round Robin 1.
I added some triangles to the ends to made it straight rather than pointed. On the back, I put a Christmas fabric and then bound with solid red fabric. Now my little table runner is reversible. I like the idea of reversible table runners and may do that on some others that are awaiting quilting.

Christmas in June

I quilted one Christmas table runner and several Christmas ornaments. June was a time to get a headstart on Christmas gifts.

Lots of sewing

I've been very busy sewing and quilting, taking advantage of my time at home this summer. I've made lots of these sets of tissue holders and notebook covers. Also made are some two thirds bags, pattern by Tara Kos. I have lots of gifts done but not a lot of fabric stash used.
