This is a sample of the craft I took to our family reunion this year. I had the 9 patches already done so those making the craft had only to stitch backing and 9 patch together with batting in between. A silver cord hanger was added and the ornaments quilted in some manner. Some were stitched and many were tied. All looked very cute. With the fabric markers I'd taken along, most people wrote the year and family reunion on the back. This made for a reunion keepsake that will get used each Christmas season. These ornaments finished at 3 inches square.
As a crafter I'm primarily a quilter and a tatter. You'll occasionally find crochet, knitting and sewing (other than quilting). This blog will be a way to post and display projects both in progress and finished.

Christmas ornaments 2009
It's been tradition since my children were little to give Christmas ornaments to the kids. Sometimes these were purchased but most of the time it was something that I made. By the time my boys were grown, they were able to leave home with a boxful of ornaments which held special meaning and childhood memories. The tradition continues as I continue to give to my children, and now to the grandchildren, a new ornament annually. This year I made fabric stars. I stitched a Christmas button to the center of each one, front and back.
