Yo-Yo Christmas Tree

I had lots of yo-yo's made ready for use and chose to use them for a craft for the craft time at our family reunion. The yo-yo's just needed to be stitched together. I had everyone make the yo-yo for the trunk so they'd know how to make the yo-yo's. To the tree, small beads and buttons were added as decorations. Everyone had a good time with this craft and it was fun to choose the decorations.
Here's my sample....
The yo-yo's are made from 3" circles of fabric. The finished tree measures 5" across and 6" high. It will look great on a shirt or a Christmas stocking.

LOTS and LOTS of yo-yo's

Also seen in the Lakeside Quilter's show: This quilt is no wall hanging!  It is a large bed quilt - very pretty from a distance and up close where one can focus on the fabrics in the yo-yo's. I'm posting 2 photos - a close up and the whole quilt.

Lakeside Quilter's EAA quilt show

This is the 25th anniversary of the Lakeside Quilter's (Oshkosh, WI) quilt show during EAA's AirVenture. This guild does a wonderful job of hosting quilters from around the world. As usual, this year there were lots of lovely quilts on display. 1 that caught my eye featured yo-yo's. How cute this little wall hanging is!
