Tarted Bookmarks

I've completed 2 bookmarks made from patterns in a Handy Hands catalog. Their website is:
hhtatting.com

For these bookmarks I used 2 threads. The rings are a Valdani #12 pearl cotton , color 0544 and the chains are Lizbeth #20, color 124. I'll keep these bookmarks to tuck into a greeting card sometime.

Twisted Lace Bookmarks

I tatted a few more twisted lace bookmarks while we were traveling last weekend. This is a pattern that is easily memorized, easy to do, yet looks intricate. Tatting is a great take along project because it takes little space and easily tucks into a pocket or bag.

More bookmarks

I decided to try to use up some thread left on shuttles and with matching ball thread with only a little or what looked to be a little left on it. I have 4 more bookmarks made and still have not finished a ball. Is thread like fabric?  Just when you think you'll use up some fabric from a box or basket, you make a quilt and find the box or basket still looks full.

So. . . I have more bookmarks completed, ready for use when I need one to tuck into a card.

Bookmarks

Having given away several bookmarks, which I enjoy tucking into a greeting card, it's time to make some more. The bookmarks shown below are from a pattern called Twisted Lace. I got it from the following link which I found on Pinterest
http://aboutneedlework.com/instructions-and-tatting-patterns-twisted-lace.html

There are 3 patterns on this page but they come after some ads. This is a fun pattern to tat.

I'll also be starting this month's block for the Just Takes Two Biggs quilt this weekend. I'm enjoying this project. One applique block a month is just the right amount as it gives me practice, a sense of accomplishment and time for other projects.
