Occasional Doily

This doily has been in progress for awhile. This past week I came across it and realized it had part of the last row done so with only a partial row to finish, I completed it. It's a UFO no longer.

The thread used is Lizbeth size 20, color #122. The pattern is on page 13 of Tatting Doilies & Edgings, edited by Rita Weiss ( Dover Needlework Series).

Triangle Doily

I've finished the Triangle Doily!  This doily has lots of clunies. Some of my clunies were made without a loom and some if them with. This is the first time I've tried a loom and using it allowed me to make more uniform clunies. In addition to that, it's much less stress on my hands.  I used a loom I made from cardboard cut from a facial tissue box. Here's the link for the loom directions:

For this doily, I used #50 DMC thread (white) and Lizbeth size 40, color #149 ( variegated blue). The finished doily measures approx. 5.5" across.

Here's a photo of my completed doily. Instead of being worked round by round as most doilies, this one is made with 6 triangular pieces. Very interesting.

2 small doilies

I've completed 2 doilies made from Lizbeth size 20 Color 122 thread. The first is the Merriment Doily (4.5") and the other is the Amusement Doily (6"). Both patterns can be found on Pinterest. I'm already using these in my home and am currently working on another one from the same thread so that I'll have a matching set of 3 doilies.
