4" Flower Blocks

I am caught up on the Quiltmaker.com Bitty Blocks for right now at least. There's one more block to come out in December. Have no idea what it will be. Since I'm making 12" blocks with my Bitty Blocks and need to have a total of 20 - 24 (depending on the length quilt I choose to make), I've gone through some of my patterns looking for 3" and 4" blocks that I can use. The above block is called a tulip block. The little flower blocks were paper pieced and finish at 4".

I have enough blocks completed that now I'm beginning to think about sashing color, design, etc  with which to set all the blocks together.

Star Block

Paper Pieced Star Block designed and published by Shirley Liby

Last week Shirley Liby presented a lesson on paper piecing to our quilt guild. This star block was one of the patterns Shirley shared with us. This is a finished size of 8. Since quilt guild members making 8" star blocks to be used in a quilts for disabled veterans, this block will be donated to that project.

Tree Bitty Blocks

The October Bitty Block pattern is a 3" finished size paper pieced tree. Here is a 12" block - bitty tree forest.

The October pattern also showed this same block pattern used for arrows. I'm considering making the arrows also.
