from ugly to pretty!
The more I looked at and thought about block 38 where I'd made a mistake in cutting, I disliked it more and more. So I needed to decide how to fix it in order to change it into a desirable block. Now what to do?
Not knowing where this block will go in my quilt or what blocks will be around it, I thought it best to have white on the outside of the block and that's what the block pattern had - so a solid red border may not work or be the best option. I then decided to make a frame around the applique and then border the red frame with the white. Now I have a block I'm very pleased with! The little red frame border is 1/4 inch and the outer white border will be 3/4 inch finished. This is a 12" finished block.
