Just finished this little heart with its 50 beads. I've made this several other times before and tucked it into a card for a 50th anniversary. People enjoy getting it. I'm giving this one this weekend to Roy & Sally.
The pattern is called: Small Tatted Heart. It's designed by Betsy Evans and the pattern can be found at:

I have beads on all but 2 of the open (those that aren't used for joins) picots in the pattern. The thread I used is a vintage size 30 Clark's O.N.T. I 'm still using this thread, one from a basket of vintage threads I bought several years ago at an antique shop. As a tatter, I thought it quite the find. I'd make a similar purchase again, given the opportunity, as the thread was in good shape and clean. I've had no trouble using it to tat with.

I recognized Betsy Evans' classic heart right away. Congratulations to Roy and Sally! They got married the same year that we did, except our wedding was at the beginning of the year. I'm sure they'll love the heart! Such a great idea to add 50 beads!
